Dorothy Attema has been a coach for the past 8 years, coaching leaders one-on-one and also conducting group coaching. She holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Coaching from Regent University, Virginia Beach, USA.
Her experience and practice as an Executive Coach have given her a broad base from which to approach coaching. She is currently best known as a Transformational Coach who inspires courage and openness in people to look at themselves, their lives and relationships and to make conscious choices that move them towards making desired changes and achieving their highest aspirations. She is also an experienced consultant on issues of sustainable development and multicultural diversity and she serves in a support board for mental health care in the Netherlands.
Through her journey, Dorothy overcame many obstacles professionally and personally, from transitioning to a new country to experiencing issues from being a woman as well as being black. While raising a multicultural family and working in a busy international job, she suffered from depression. It is her experience from overcoming depression after five years which made her decide to dedicate her life to helping other people.
Dorothy has over 20 years of an international career in sustainable development holding leadership roles with non-governmental organizations including World Vision, Food for the Hungry, ACROSS while moving homes between Kenya, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium. Dorothy is a motivational speaker who has spoken on regional and national platforms.
She has recently during the COVID 19 Authored ‘Invisible No More’ a book to help people deal with anger, victim mentality stress and depression. Dorothy is currently most known as an empathetic, authentic and a seasoned transformational life coach. She believes in people and inspires them to believe in themselves in achieving the impossible.
