It is well known sustainable development is defined as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. The principle encompasses the understanding that development goals, no matter how it is defined could be met without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same. As a consultant, one of my passions to ensure businesses integrates this thinking within their strategic plans.

On a project in the Horn of Africa (South Sudan, East and South Africa, Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya) from November 1998 to March 2000, I worked to provide expert advice on a wide variety of projects that included: monitoring and evaluation; organizational review; capacity strengthening of management staff; program design and strategic planning; training of trainers, project management; team building and participatory methodologies.
